Meet Our Founder

Asta Chan, Founder and Director
MSW | RSW | Psychotherapist

Hi, I’m Asta Chan, a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling and Psychology.

My vision is to integrate evidence-based approaches with creative modalities to promote mental wellness in the community. I combine narrative therapy, mindfulness, emotion-focused techniques, and acceptance-based practices with aroma-informed, expressive arts, and play-based approaches, tailoring each session to the individual’s needs. I emphasize here-and-now awareness, helping clients connect with their present emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a safe and supportive way.

I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their inner thoughts and emotions. Through our collaborative relationship, I aim to empower you to navigate challenges, strengthen self-awareness, and build resilience. I also offer family sessions for parents seeking support with parenting, family conflict, and grief.

I have over 8 years of experience working with children, youth, families, adult and newcomers across school, community, and rehabilitation settings. I have particular expertise supporting individuals facing mental health challenges and developmental differences, including ASD, ADHD, and emotional regulation difficulties. My work spans individual counseling, coaching, therapeutic group facilitation, and community advocacy, especially for newcomer families and racialized children.

My approach is guided by the belief that taking time to acknowledge and process emotions is essential to healing, and that creative, evidence-informed methods can make mental health support more engaging, accessible, and effective.
